Five Simple Decorator Tips!

Tip #1: Just because a fabric is made to run vertically, doesn't mean you have to use it that way!
These gorgeous custom made grey and white stripe curtains were made from a vertical stripe fabric. I just cut the fabric down the middle and turned it on its side, then sewed the two together right along the stripe so you can't see it!  Then you have horizontal striped curtains! You can also save a TON on fabric yardage by doing it this way!

Tip #2: Put flowers in wall sconces instead of candles!
There is no rule that says you can't use other items to fill candle sconces! In this case the faux flowers add height, color, and texture!

Tip #3: Hang an old window as art!
This old window was removed from an old home that was about to be bulldozed! You can find them at antique shops, yard sales, Craigslist, or salvage yards! It adds instant character to a space!

Tip #4: Use a table runner to add texture and warmth to your table!
Pick a pattern you love and cut a long narrow piece. Just turn the edges under and stitch them down (or if you don't sew, use stitch witch and an iron)!

Tip#5: It is okay to use faux flowers for decorating!
Check your local craft store for silk flowers on clearance! You can put them in a vase, a pitcher, candle holder, or mason jars for a unique look! This entire project only cost $8!!
