A Mother-In-Law Suite All Mom's Will Want to Stay in!

I was very much inspired by this photo for this large guest space in my client's home.

I love the neutral palette with the fun pops of bold bright color!

I went with this neutral trellis print rug.

I used my client's current 4 poster bed frame and added all white bedding with a very colorful coverlet and shams.

For the curtains, I went with a yellow burlap with a grommet top.

I love pairing old finds with new ones! This chair was a craigslist find and the table was a new purchase from Kirkland Home. Those items mixed with my client's old throw blanket and a new pillow make the perfect pairing!

Beauty and Function: Formal Living Space with Room for Kids!

Most Texas homes tend to come standard with a formal living room. And a lot of my clients just aren't sure what to do with the space. Do you spend the money to decorate it so it at least looks nice, but you never seem to use it, OR turn it into something else entirely? For this client, we decided to make the space a fun, colorful, inviting space that was suitable for adults, but we used kid friendly pieces so they could be welcome too!

Design Inspiration Board for the room

These storage ottomans were my inspiration for the space. I loved the fun colors and print, as well as the toy storage they would provide! Ottomans are so great when you have kids. You can add a tray on top for drinks when you have company, they act as coffee tables, you can put you feet up on them, and kids can crawl all over them with out getting hurt! Genius!

The large shag rug provides a soft place for kids to play!

These small bookcases with storage bins were added to hide away toys!

I added these adorable mini chalk boards in a navy color so my client could label all of the bins and keep the toys organized! How cute is that!?

I'm in love with this bicycle pillow! It gives the room a feeling of whimsy!

LOVE this Guest Room!

How fun would it be to stay as a guest in this room?! This space has a fun, cozy, neutral feel with a few vibrant pops of coral!

I fell in love with this fabric as a small accent for the space!

I went with a neutral, geometric duvet cover from West Elm, but offset it with these gorgeous coral sheets!

The curtains are a beautiful white to coral ombre cotton.

I really love the eclectic mix of the rustic, reclaimed wood sign and the glamorous mirrored night stand! Don't be afraid to mix and match pieces you love to give your home a more collected look!

For the Guest Bath around the corner, I wanted to make sure to leave the shower open so the window light could shine through! I am a huge fan of any natural light and I never want to cover it up! So for this bath, we used 2 store bought curtain panels from Target and to add length, I sewed this cute navy blue ruffle at the bottom! This way the curtains can be left open whenever the shower is not in use!

The ruffle really gives the perfect touch of traditional elegance and helps to make the navy in the curtains pop!

The shower curtain liner was cut down the middle, so when your guests need to shower, they will just pull the curtains shut to the middle! I love when something so beautiful has such great function too!
