Friday Favorites #8!!

Revlon Colorstay Matte Balm
I just saw this new Revlon product in stores last week and lately I've been obsessing over matte lip color, so I thought I'd give it a try! I bought a deep pink color called Sultry and I love it! The color is gorgeous, it glides on like lip balm, but has HUGE color payoff, and it stays on forever! I will definitely be picking up a few more of these!!

So I know this is totally random and a product that has been around forever, but I have a new found love for New Skin! I cut my finger this week while prepping dinner and I thought it was pretty bad at first. When my hubby got home, he examined it and told me that what I really needed to put on it was New Skin. That's when it dawned on me that we had some! It was stashed away in our guest bathroom for who knows how long! I put it over the opening of my cut, and I'm not gonna lie, it stung horribly and stunk like nail polish...lol. But, it dried fast and sealed up my cut. The next morning I was absolutely amazed at how great my cut looked. I was able to go about my normal daily routines (such as doing dishes) and the New Skin kept it sealed and protected! I was so impressed, I just had to share! Great for the kiddos too (who tend to pull band aides off within minutes lol)!

Boots No. 7 Loose Translucent Powder
I use this every day to set my foundation and it has such a beautiful finish! You don't have to worry about what shade you are, because it is translucent! If you set your foundation with a powder, it will last nearly all day! You can buy this at Target for around $10 too!

So going back to being obsessed with matte lip color, if you want a high end product to try, this it it! It is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. Love the name too! It is such a beautiful dark red shade and it literally lasts all day! I did need a little lip moisturizer under neath, to keep it from drying too much, but I seriously love this!

I am loving a rounded nail shape this fall! You can wear a rounded nail really super short, or long too! It just has a softness that looks so sophisticated! You will definitely see me sporting this shape all fall/winter long!

Two words...OLD NAVY!!!!
Old Navy's designers have really been impressing me this fall! Both Women's and Kids clothing is not only cute, but soooo affordable! The tops pictured above are just a few of my recent purchases! Did you know that if you sign up for emails from Old Navy, they will send you coupons that you can use in store, right from your smart phone!? I saved 20% on top of the sale price of that cute sweat shirt above making it only $8!! You cannot beat that! So, to save money on trends this season, stock your fall/winter wardrobe at Old Navy!

Pink and Grey Nursery

I recently had the opportunity to do some custom textiles for a baby girl's nursery! My client wanted Pink and Grey with a mix of prints and patterns.

This was my original design board for the room.

Virtual design of the teething bumper and crib skirt.

Fabric options! Aren't these just too cute!?

And here is the finished product!

Crib bumpers are out and teething bumpers are in! Teething bumpers are a huge trend in the baby world right now! Not only are they cute, but they also help to protect the furniture!

I went with an all grey and white Damask ruffled crib skirt!

It's hard to see from the pic, but the ribbon ties are grey with white polka dots :)

This is the custom name banner I made for above the crib. The picture is not that great due to the flash reflecting off the wall...

I used a pink chevron ribbon and fabric scraps from the other baby items. Each letter is appliqued to the banner flags.

I just love the way all of these fabrics compliment each other! Such a cute, girly room!

Friday Favorites #7!!!

Almay's New Liquid Lip Balm
Of course anytime I see the word NEW! on the makeup stands at the store, I have to give it a try! I don't normally wear a lot of Almay products, but I picked up this gloss in the shade Rose Lipped and loved it! It is the perfect pink/nude color and it goes on pretty sheer. It has an awesome smooth, not sticky gloss formula. I have been loving this for a month or so now and I definitely want to pick up some other colors!!

Revlon 24hour ColorStay Foundation
If you are a fan of a full coverage foundation, this is definitely a must try! This is such a great foundation for the price! It runs about $10 at drugstores. It has a flawless finish and is very buildable. It also looks beautiful on camera! This is my go-to foundation right now for a night out and meetings with clients! Pair this with Smashbox's primer and you're makeup will not budge All. Day. Long!

I came across these Veggie Straw snacks at Costco when I was looking for healthy snacks to pack in my son's school lunch. I have to admit, even I was scared to try them lol. Crunchy zucchini, carrot, and potato snacks aren't exactly my cup of tea. But, I finally just tried one, and fell in love instantly. It is now one of my go-to snacks during the day as well! My son loves them too! It makes you feel so much better about snacking when choosing a healthier option like this and when it tastes like these do, well that's just a huge bonus!

While browsing through my Facebook feed this week, I saw a sponsored post for Target's new coupon app called Cartwheel. I immediately downloaded the app to see what it was all about. (I am a sucker for anything Target!) I started searching through the coupons and I was amazed at what I could be saving! Most items are things I was already going to purchase, but they were 20-30% off with the app! All you have to do is click the items you think you might buy, it saves them all in one folder, and generates ONE coupon bar code. You have the cashier scan the barcode at checkout and it takes off all of your discounts at one time! How awesome is that!? It's free so download it NOW!

I know a few weeks back I talked about the Maybelline brow pencil I was loving, and I do still love it, but I ran out so I thought it was time to try something new. I have really been wanting to try the Anastasia brow wiz from Ulta, but it is $28 just for the pencil and $22 for the brow gel. $50 for brows...Uh maybe not! So when I was using my Target Cartwheel app, I found out that all Pixi eye products were 20% off with the coupon and I had been eyeing this pencil, gel duo for a few weeks. It is normally $18, but I got $3.50 off just for scanning my app coupon! I have never seen this brand on sale or a coupon for it, so the app was totally worth it just for this one purchase alone!
I tried it yesterday and I love how natural it looks! The color is a medium tone brown and the pencil has a great angle to it. The gel is slightly tinted and helps to keep those unruly brow hairs in place! Great buy!

I hope you enjoyed this weeks favorites! If you get a chance to try any of these products, please let me know what you think!
