Cozy and Chic, Rustic Living Room

Cozy and Chic, Rustic Living Room

Design Inspiration Board

Floor Plan

This living room was a great space before, it just needed to be brightened up a bit!

By adding a neutral grey paint color, raising the curtains to allow more light, and multiple lamps, this space was completely transformed!

We went with a grey, blue, and cream color scheme. It has the perfect masculine/feminine balance!

When decorating with subtle colors, use texture and pattern to add warmth to the space!

Friday Favorites #9!

I have a new found love for Pilates! I have done Pilates off and on for over 10 years, but I recently discovered that you can watch hundreds of free 30min+ videos on YouTube! Pilates has really helped to tone and shape my stomach and I can't believe how great it looks after 2 babies! (2 huge babies I might add lol). Sometimes I feel like the moves are so simple and that I can't be working hard enough for it to have any effect, but then the next day I am so sore I can barely move!!

This adorable kids line is called Joe Fresh and it can be found at JC Penney, believe it or not! The prices are great and the clothes are right on trend! So cute!

There are 4 drugstore shampoos that I have tried over the last month and I am loving them all! From right to left: Clear, Dove, Infusium 23, and Loreal. I have been pleasantly surprised at how moisturized and soft my hair feels after using each of these brands! My favorite out of the 4 right now? The Infusium 23!

These are 4 of my most recent perfume favorites! I always like to try perfumes on my body before I purchase them, so I try to get a sample from Sephora to test out. Sephora will give you a small sample in a spray bottle of any perfume they carry! And, once I am in love with a scent, I prefer the roller ball perfume bottles (shown in the 2 on left). They are just the right size, they roll on for perfect application, and even the designer fragrances are only around $25! Perfect for Christmas gifts! From right to left: Narciso Rodriguez , La Belle Est Vie, YSL Manifesto, and Marc Jacobs Honey.

Friday Favorites #8!!

Revlon Colorstay Matte Balm
I just saw this new Revlon product in stores last week and lately I've been obsessing over matte lip color, so I thought I'd give it a try! I bought a deep pink color called Sultry and I love it! The color is gorgeous, it glides on like lip balm, but has HUGE color payoff, and it stays on forever! I will definitely be picking up a few more of these!!

So I know this is totally random and a product that has been around forever, but I have a new found love for New Skin! I cut my finger this week while prepping dinner and I thought it was pretty bad at first. When my hubby got home, he examined it and told me that what I really needed to put on it was New Skin. That's when it dawned on me that we had some! It was stashed away in our guest bathroom for who knows how long! I put it over the opening of my cut, and I'm not gonna lie, it stung horribly and stunk like nail polish...lol. But, it dried fast and sealed up my cut. The next morning I was absolutely amazed at how great my cut looked. I was able to go about my normal daily routines (such as doing dishes) and the New Skin kept it sealed and protected! I was so impressed, I just had to share! Great for the kiddos too (who tend to pull band aides off within minutes lol)!

Boots No. 7 Loose Translucent Powder
I use this every day to set my foundation and it has such a beautiful finish! You don't have to worry about what shade you are, because it is translucent! If you set your foundation with a powder, it will last nearly all day! You can buy this at Target for around $10 too!

So going back to being obsessed with matte lip color, if you want a high end product to try, this it it! It is the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. Love the name too! It is such a beautiful dark red shade and it literally lasts all day! I did need a little lip moisturizer under neath, to keep it from drying too much, but I seriously love this!

I am loving a rounded nail shape this fall! You can wear a rounded nail really super short, or long too! It just has a softness that looks so sophisticated! You will definitely see me sporting this shape all fall/winter long!

Two words...OLD NAVY!!!!
Old Navy's designers have really been impressing me this fall! Both Women's and Kids clothing is not only cute, but soooo affordable! The tops pictured above are just a few of my recent purchases! Did you know that if you sign up for emails from Old Navy, they will send you coupons that you can use in store, right from your smart phone!? I saved 20% on top of the sale price of that cute sweat shirt above making it only $8!! You cannot beat that! So, to save money on trends this season, stock your fall/winter wardrobe at Old Navy!

Pink and Grey Nursery

I recently had the opportunity to do some custom textiles for a baby girl's nursery! My client wanted Pink and Grey with a mix of prints and patterns.

This was my original design board for the room.

Virtual design of the teething bumper and crib skirt.

Fabric options! Aren't these just too cute!?

And here is the finished product!

Crib bumpers are out and teething bumpers are in! Teething bumpers are a huge trend in the baby world right now! Not only are they cute, but they also help to protect the furniture!

I went with an all grey and white Damask ruffled crib skirt!

It's hard to see from the pic, but the ribbon ties are grey with white polka dots :)

This is the custom name banner I made for above the crib. The picture is not that great due to the flash reflecting off the wall...

I used a pink chevron ribbon and fabric scraps from the other baby items. Each letter is appliqued to the banner flags.

I just love the way all of these fabrics compliment each other! Such a cute, girly room!
