A Woodland Nursery For Our Baby Boy!

Woodland Nursery Before and After
Finally! The nursery is finished!!

Woodland Nursery
I am just in love with how this Woodland Nursery turned out for our little man!!

Woodland Nursery

Woodland Nursery barn door and bunting
I added these lanterns from Home Goods and this bunting banner from Nurtured Soul Designs on Etsy!

Woodland Nursery lanterns
I used a plant hanger from Lowes to hang the lanterns.

Woodland Nursery crib

Woodland Nursery blankets
How adorable is this blanket with this little fox and raccoon, found at Babies R Us!? And the striped crochet blanket was made by my SIL!! You can check out her work via Yarn at Heart!

Woodland Nursery triangle shelves
My hubby made me these cute triangle shelves from some left over reclaimed wood!

Woodland Nursery DIY ceiling fan
This ceiling fan was part of the house when we moved in and I wasn't a fan of the brass, but once I started decorating the room and using brass accents (in the lamp and the hardware), I thought I might just leave it and paint the fan blades!

Woodland Nursery painted ceiling fan
I painted them to match the dresser and I love the way it came out! Plus it saved me over $200!!!

Woodland Nursery crib bedding
For the crib bedding, I used a brown, tan, and orange plaid flannel. The fitted crib sheet is from Land of Nod. I decided to do a teething bumper instead of a full crib bumper since my first 2 boys chewed the front of the crib. I used a quilted brown fabric and made my own piping with the plaid fabric to tie it all together!

With my left over fabric, I made this cute little blanket too!

Woodland Nursery hospital door hanger
This adorable door hanger was made by a super talented friend of mine!! You can find her custom calligraphy work and more here! She made this for us to use at the hospital on our door, and now it hangs on the nursery door at home! I just LOVE everything about this!!

Woodland Nursery
I found this little end table at Home Goods. It has a rustic finish and I am always obsessed with any furniture that has this 'X' detail!!

Woodland Nursery metal moose
How cute is this little metal moose!? Found at At Home!

Woodland Nursery pinecone deer head
This is the deer head made of pine cones that my MIL gave me! It was part of her Christmas décor, and was then used at my baby shower for décor! Now it hangs in the nursery!!

Woodland Nursery rug
The rug is from Target and can I just say this is one of the softest rugs I have ever felt!! I was so surprised by the quality of this inexpensive rug. Perfect for little ones!!

Woodland Nursery field guide wall art
I wanted to make some unique wall décor for the nursery. I made this Field Guide in photoshop and printed it on brown cardstock. I bought this wood slice at Hobby Lobby and then glued the print to it! Added some jute rope and hung it on the wall!

In addition to the field guide, the burlap letter 'T' was a gift from my SIL, and the outdoor sign is from At Home.

Woodland Nursery be brave have courage explore
And last but not least, I really wanted some kind of quote in the room. When I came across this quote, I  knew it was the perfect one! First I thought I would order the quote from a decal company on Etsy, but then I decided to "be brave" myself and hand paint it on the wall. I know, crazy right?!
Well, I used the projector on a ladder and traced it with pencil first, then I used a burnt orange paint and a small paint brush to paint over it. I added the triangles in between to tie in with the other triangles in the room (the crib sheet and the shelves)!

Love what you see? Click on the links below for step by step details on how I put the nursery together!

Woodland Baby Shower

My friends threw me the cutest baby shower to match the Woodland theme of the baby's nursery! Since I know so many of you have been following the process of decorating the nursery, I had to share these cute ideas from the shower with you as well!

Woodland Baby Shower birch logs
It is really all about adding outdoor textures! Here you see twigs, birch logs, moss, pine stems, etc!

Woodland Baby Shower guest signing
Love this idea of using a story book and having each of your guests write a note to baby inside! And how cute is the title of the book?! "This Moose Belongs to Me", perfectly fitting to the theme of his room!

Woodland Baby Shower mantle bunting banner
I always love a banner across the mantle for any type of event! This one done in burlap and showcasing his name is so perfect!

Don't you just love this deer head made of pine cones!? It was part of my MIL's Christmas decor, and you will soon see it in the final nursery reveal!

33 weeks preggo with this 'big' guy!

Build a Nursery with Me! Part 4!

Build A Nursery With Me! Part 4!

I am getting very close to having our baby boy's Woodland Nursery complete...check out what I have been up to lately!

Woodland Nursery Design Inspiration Board

Woodland Nursery Changing Pad Cover
So this is the fabric I had originally ordered for the curtain panels, but when I held it up against the window in the room, the orange detail completely disappeared and it looked like a big brown blob. Brown blob is definitely not the look I was going for lol. So it was back to the drawing board for curtain inspiration(which you will see below), but it was such a cute fabric and a very soft flannel, so I thought it would make the perfect changing pad cover!!

Woodland Nursery Changing Pad Cover Fabric
I purchased the fabric on fabric.com, but it is now discontinued.

**Tip: Use rubber shelf liner cut to size under your changing pad to prevent slipping!

Woodland Nursery Changing Table
I really love how the tiny bit of orange in the changing pad cover ties in so well with the deer print above. The vintage style table lamp is also a new addition. I am also in love with how well the bronze metal on the lamp ties in with the hardware on the dresser!

Woodland Nursery Changing Table
This shows that you can use just about anything to make a changing table. All this took was a thrift store dresser, some stain, a changing pad, and a table lamp! I found the ladder basket shelf at Home Goods in the bathroom organization section for only $40!

Woodland Nursery diaper organization
How perfect is this to store diapers, wipes, lotions, blankets, etc?!

Woodland Nursery decor fox
This little guy was a Christmas clearance find! Who knew you could find so many woodland animal décor items in the Christmas section!? And at 66% off, I paid only $5 at Hobby Lobby!

Woodland Nursery chevron curtains
My biggest accomplishment thus far has been the nursery curtains! I found this fabric at JoAnn fabrics and added an orange burlap ribbon banding down the inside middle!

Woodland Nursery chevron curtains
I decided to hang them with curtain ring clips to give them a more masculine feel.

Woodland Nursery antler curtain tie backs
And how cute are these antler curtain tie backs?? I ordered them online from Urban Outfitters for only $20/pair!

They add the perfect rustic woodland touch to these curtains!

Woodland Nursery decor storage baskets
Last, but not least, I used the left over orange burlap ribbon to add a banding detail around these baskets.

I printed the labels on my home printer and used a mini clothespin to attach them!

Only a few more items needed to finish this Woodland themed nursery! I will probably do one more update post and then the final reveal!
