Friday Favorites! 3

Hey guys! Here are 5 things that I am LOVING right now!

Chevron Printed Burlap!!
Of course we all know how huge the chevron pattern has become lately and I am loving that it is being printed on just about everything! At my local Hobby Lobby store you can get 1"-5" thick, chevron printed burlap ribbon in just about any color! And it's all under $6! Hobby Lobby also just opened their online store so if you don't have one near you, you're in luck!

Midi Rings
I am so obsessed with these above the knuckle rings called Midi Rings!! Especially in the gold color! I have been buying most of mine at Forever 21. They are so cute and you normally get 2 for $4!! Here is a link to their Midi Ring page online!

MAC Fix+
I am a big fan of MAC cosmetics and I had been hearing a lot of hype over their makeup setting spray. Honestly I just thought it was yet another unnecessary makeup item to add to my morning routine. I happened to stop at the mall where we have a MAC pro store. I asked one of their makeup artists what their TRUE opinion was of the spray and they said that it was a must! Now, I was still skeptical, wondering if they were just trying to sell me to get their commission. But, I bought it anyway and let me tell you, I. LOVE. IT!!!! My makeup is not finished until I spray my face with this wonderful stuff! I have found that it not only sets all of my makeup so that it doesn't budge all day, but it helps to blur and blend any harsh lines from my contour, blush, and highlight. It also leaves a beautiful dewy finish to your skin. Plus, it smells great! This is a must try product for only $20!

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
This is the best highlighter I have ever used! It is definitely a little pricey at $25, but it is only $12 on Haute Look today!!! I have tried products from $1-$25 and they have pretty much all been 'good' highlighters, but this one is incredible! It gives my face the most beautiful glow. It is also great for below the brow and the inner corner of the eye. You can find this online at Sephora, Amazon, any many other places. Although it is expensive, this will last you at least 6 months, if not an entire year. It is so pigmented that you only need a little bit to make a huge difference.
(If you are wondering how to use a powder highlight, and are interested in a tutorial, please comment below!!)

Stila Lip Glaze
I heard about these Lip Glaze's in Ulta's recent mailer. They had an ad for 3 for $15 which is actually their everyday price and ONLY at Ulta! I thought that was such a great deal on Stila cosmetics that I had to try them out. I think they have 15 colors to choose from and if you go to an Ulta store, they have testers that you can swatch on your hand to find the right colors for you. I love that they look and feel like a gloss, but they have the pigmentation of a lipstick. They stay on my lips for a very long time too!
Don't be afraid to try a fun color...I used to be a nude/pink lip girl until one day I decided to just try something more bold. Once I did, I loved it and now I wear all kinds of colors! Most people say to me that they are scared to try a bold color, and my response is always, what is there to be scared of? If you don't like it, you can return it (yes, you can return makeup anywhere if you live in the US. If you don't love it, take it back!), it washes off, and you can try it in the privacy of your own home (in case you don't want any one to see)! There is really no commitment involved! Just have fun with it!

And one more tip, NO MAKEUP PRODUCT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE IT LOOKS (confused? Let me elaborate...) If you look at a lipstick in the tube, it looks like a certain color, but if you take that lipstick and swatch it (apply it on the backside of your hand), it will look completely different! Same with eye shadow, blush, bronzer, you name it! I will not buy a makeup product before swatching it first, nor will I judge a color before swatching it. Try it...it just may change the way you buy makeup :)

Friday Favorites!! 2

I have fallen in love with this new beauty applicator! It is a sponge that you can use to apply foundation and concealer! You can use it damp or dry. I have been using it to apply my concealer and it blends it out so perfectly! There are a range of prices on these depending where you purchase them. I purchased mine at Ulta for $6, but I recently saw them at TJ Maxx for only $4!! The actual Beauty Blender brand in the photo above is in the $20 range. If you are a concealer wearer, this is a must have!!

I have always been scared of liquid eye liner. I always seem to screw it up somehow. Until I found this product a few weeks ago. This is Maybelline's gel liner in Black. It comes in a pot with a small applicator brush. This is SO EASY to apply. I am obsessed! You can use it for a thin simple line, or to do a cat eye. And it's only $7 at drugstores!!

I have recently learned about Mario Badescu skin care products. You can purchase the brand at Nordstrom and online. I found this Rosewater Facial spray on Amazon for only $7! I spray this on my face right after I wash it and before I put on my moisturizer in the mornings. The cool mist feels so good on your skin and helps to refresh and wake your face, plus it smells like fresh cut roses!

Just this week both of my little ones came down with runny noses. I have been using this technique for over a year now and I decided to use it on both of my boys this week. I rub a layer of Vicks Vapor Rub on their feet and then put on their socks right before bed. We did it for 2 nights in a row and their colds were almost completely gone! This is an amazing remedy for kids colds! I also use the baby rub pictured above since it is specially formulated for kids. Try it...you won't be disappointed!

The Nordstrom Anniversary sale started this past week and I treated myself to this little beauty! I had decided that since I am always carrying a diaper bag, I no longer wanted to carry a full purse. When I saw this 'Lauren' wallet by Hobo, I knew it was the one. I had actually been eyeing this style for years, but just never pulled the trigger. I got it in the berry color pictured. I am so glad I finally bought this! It is SO functional and cute! You can see in the picture above that there are many compartments to this wallet. It holds all of my cards, cash, receipts, lip gloss, and even my cell phone! If you are looking for an amazing wallet, you have to check this one out!

Last, but not least, I stumbled across this discount retail website just last week called No More Rack. I made my first purchase of the sports bras pictured below. They caught my eye because they were so cute and colorful, but then I noticed that they came in a 6 pack for only $27!! I was sold! Then while checking out, I found out my shipping was only $2! They only took 3 days to get here and when they arrived, they were exactly how I pictured them to be. They fit perfectly and they are soooooo cute! No More Rack also has an app so you can check new merchandise everyday right from your phone! See what awesome deals you can find!

NEW! Friday Favorites!

I have recently learned the power of recommendation  and have made product purchases I would have never even looked at, let alone purchased without a recommendation! I have fallen in love with so many new products and ideas lately that I figured why not share the love! So today I am introducing a brand new weekly blog topic, Friday Favorites! Each week I will choose a few items to share and provide costs, reviews, and photos! I would absolutely love it if you would also share your comments below! I hope everyone enjoys this new topic and it becomes something you look forward to each week!

Never underestimate the power of filling in your eyebrows!! I have tried many eyebrow color products and this is the best one I have found yet! I am in LOVE with this brow pencil/brush duo from Maybelline!! It is so simple to use and the color is perfect! Plus it is only about $7 at your local drugstore!

These are my new favorite nail polishes! Not only do they have the cutest colors, but they are only $2.99!! You can pretty much find them anywhere Maybelline is sold. I get compliments on the color of my nails all the time!!

I have never used a hear protectant spray on my hair, although I probably should have. I color my hair often, blow dry, straighten, curl, and sit in the sun. It definitely gets dried out and frizzy! Normally when I blow dry my hair I can't even run a brush through it after because it is so fried and frizzy, but since I started using this, my hair is SO smooth and soft!
Just spray it on wet hair immediately before blow drying, or dry hair before using a hot tool. You can even spray it on before you lay out in the sun! It smells amazing and its only $8 at drugstores!

So this is not going to be recommended for what you're thinking...
I saw on Pinterest that you should soak your feet in Listerine, or any mouth wash product to get all of the dead skin off. I did this the other night while giving myself a pedicure, and it really worked! I soaked for about 20min (which was too long because when I took my feet out they looked like Smurf feet lol). 10 min would have been efficient. I just followed with a pumice stone scrub, and my feet were baby soft and they still are a week later! This is a must try!!

And I have left my favorite for last! Those of you who know me well, know that I have a recent makeup and skincare OBSESSION! At 28 years old, I am finally learning how to take care of my skin and apply my makeup the right way! I subscribe to Kandee Johnson's YouTube channel and she swears by this lemon sugar scrub. I bought the GIANT bag of organic sugar at Costco for only $10!! The cotton rounds you can get for $1 at the dollar store too! You simply squeeze fresh lemon juice on the cotton pad, followed by a little sugar and then scrub all over your face! I do this every other day and my skin looks and feels amazing! Not to mention smell good :) I will never buy facial scrubs ever again!!!
