My Living Room Update with Big Lots!
Well, this sad story of
a living room becomes reality when your three kiddos spill countless amounts of
juice, milk, and popsicles all over your rug, pillows, and curtains. (insert
sad face emoji here). But, never fear, #BigLots to the rescue!! I knew it was
time for an update and Big Lots was exactly where I was headed first!
As a mom of three boys
under 4, I have to spend wisely on home décor items, but I don't ever want to
compromise quality and style for price! I am constantly challenged to find
sophisticated décor that is affordable and won't break the bank if the items
have to be replaced often due to my Tasmanian Devils. lol.
After one incredible
bargain shopping trip to my local Big Lots, this
is what my living room looks like now! #ICantEven
Have you ever shopped at
Big Lots? I just love that I am always greeted when I walk in the door and
every section is labeled clearly so you can easily find what you need!
Just look at the
selection!
I took this photo because I wanted to show you
how well all of the new items I purchased at Big Lots go with my existing
décor! Everything blends seamlessly! I absolutely love that you would never
know what I spent a large dollar amount on and what I spent pennies on! This
just proves that you don't have to spend a lot to get great quality décor!
*Styles and assortment
vary by store.
What a difference it
makes to add new curtains, a colorful pillow, and just a few end table décor
items! Anyone can do this kind of update and Big Lots makes it easy and
affordable to find what you need!
When decorating an end
table, coffee table, or bookshelf, always try to use an odd number of items and
play with height variation and scale until you like the design! I used 3 items
and positioned them from tallest to shortest!
How gorgeous is this
clock?? I decided to use this as end table décor, but you could hang this on
the wall, or it would even make a great addition to any gallery wall! When you
are shopping for home décor, don't forget to check out the seasonal aisle! This
cute little acorn was found in the harvest décor area, and to my surprise, it
even lights up! It is such a great way to add ambiance to your space!
This canister with chalk
label has the cutest yellow lid and I created my own chalk art with my handy
dandy chalk lettering technique! Canisters don't
always have to be used in the kitchen or bathroom, they work great as décor in
any room! Plus, I love any décor that is beautiful on the outside, yet
functional on the inside! (Maybe I could hide some chocolate from the kiddos in
here? lol)
I love that this pillow
helps to tie in my neutral shades of grey and khaki, but it also has some
subtle pops of yellow! The quality of this pillow is fantastic too!
This has to be the best
curtain panel deal I have ever purchased! As a decorator, I always recommend
curtains first to completely change your space! I love the casual tab top and
the faux linen texture is just gorgeous!
Here is a close up so
you can see the texture and color variation.
And last, but definitely
not least, THIS RUG! My favorite purchase by far! It has a gorgeous pattern,
the perfect blue/grey/beige color scheme, and it is so soft! Baby Tavner (my 7
month old who is just starting to crawl) has already broken it in and he, of course,
loves it. I am sure if he could talk, he would say, "mom, this rug is so
pretty", or maybe it would be more like, "mom, thanks for buying this
ultra plush rug so I don't have to crawl around on the hard, cold wood floor
anymore" lol. Either way, we all love it! Such a great value for the money
and if another one is needed in the future, you'd better bet I will be headed
to Big Lots!
